Razor scooter tricks. Are they all safe for kids?

Doing razor scooter tricks may cause injury.

While finalizing an informative website on electric scooters I came across a video on a site that shows how to do razor scooter tricks. It kind of got my attention. In fact it kind of gave me a hunch to build a video site about razor scooters. It is fascinating to see how young boys and teens manage to do all those scary jumps and turns. Adventure is an intense driving force in teenagers, I say, especially in boys.

Competitiveness is another passion in boys. They just want to compete and be at the top. Be it in games, school, relationship, boys compete. Doing razor scooter tricks wouldn’t be any different. I managed to watch some videos of those tricks, wow; some boys are pushing the limits. There is a lot of flipping, sliding, jumping, and kicking and lots of stuff I didn’t mention here. These manoeuvres, though are cool, may endanger the riders to a physical harm. I don’t know if there is a rule in place yet for using scooters and related vehicles. If we ride motorbikes we know we have to have all the necessary gear to protect us from injuries. It shouldn’t be any different for scooters, skateboards, roller-skates and the likes. It may be sheer luck that I watched Dr. Phill’s show on the day I wrote this article. Don’t remember everything but something like wearing protective gears be a law. I support the idea. Wearing a seat belt is a law and it protected many from harm and death.

Scooter riders mostly wear protective gears. When it comes to young children and teens I think it is parent’s responsibility to check if they are protected. Reasoning and ability to analyse causes and effects, is in its infancy in young children. They focus on the thrill of doing razor scooter tricks not realizing they may be injured on the way. I have seen some websites that list all kinds of tricks detailing the moves and some are supplementing it with videos. Young kids and teens in a desire to do outstanding tricks may go beyond the safe zone and end up in serious injuries if not death.
